Private Pilot Certificate

The Private Pilot Certificate is the license to learn and the first step to your flying adventure. 

  1. 16 years of age to solo
  2. 17 years of age to acquire certificate
  3. Minimum of 40 hours of flight  time 
    1. 20 hours solo
    2. 20 hours instruction
  4. Pass FAA Written Exam
  5. Pass FAA Practical Test

Instrument Rating

The Instrument Rating allows a pilot to fly in the clouds without visual reference to the ground.  This is typically the next step after the Private Certificate.

  1. Be at least 17 years old.
  2. Hold at least a current private pilot certificate.
  3. Read, speak, write, and understand English.
  4. Pass FAA Written Exam
  5. Pass FAA Practical Test

Flight Instructor Certificates

  1. To be eligible for a flight instructor certificate or rating a person must
  2. Be at least 18 years of age
  3.  Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language. 
  4. Hold either a commercial pilot certificate or airline transport pilot certificate

Tailweel Endorsement

Want to experience what real flying is like?  A tailwheel endorsement is a great addition to the logbook and can be added in a short period of time.  We offer the 7KCAB Citabria for year around training and the Cessna 180 in the winter months.  Give it a try and learn what the rudder pedals are for!! Must hold at least a Private Pilot Certificate.

High Perfromance/Complex Endorsements

We offer High Performance training in the PA 28-235 and both High Performance/Complex in the C 182 RG.  Both of these aircraft provide a great training platform for expanding your knowledge of advanced systems. Must hold at least a Private Pilot Certificate.

Seaplane Rating

Adding a Seaplane rating allows a pilot to experience Minnesotas land of 10,000 runways.  Nothing is more fun than flying and enjoying a day on the lake.  Must be at least  Private Pilot and pass a FAA Practical Test.

2 Day Private Pilot Accelerated Ground School

This two day course is designed to prepare you for the Private Pilot FAA Written Exam.  This is a concentrated course with a successful pass rate.  Students should be close to solo or post solo for the course.  Testing for the FAA Exam is held offsite.

1 Day Part 107 Commercial Drone Operation

This one day course prepares you for the FAA Written Exam to operate as a Commercial Drone Operator.  Upon completion of this course and the associated Test you will receive your Remote Pilot Certificate.  FAA Exam is held offsite.
